Digitalization @ PATOffice - powered by europatent

Digitalisation at PATOffice is in full swing. In addition to our services, which we are now able to map to a high degree in our patent management software PATOffice, we have also digitalised internal processes comprehensively with the help of several tools. These steps are essential for fast and sustainable growth and enable us to make PATOffice the unique IP management software of tomorrow.

At PATOffice, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our efficiency and stay ahead of the curve. One area we have focused on recently is digitalisation - both internally and externally. In this blog post, we will go into detail about how we are becoming more digital as a company and what benefits this brings.

External digitalisation

Those who have been actively following us and our activities in recent months will know that we are on an exciting journey from a classic IP service provider to a modern SaaS company. europatent GmbH has been around for a very long time. For more than 70 years, we have been advising companies from small to large on patent management and providing all kinds of IP services. These include, for example, classical patent monitoring, i.e. the monitoring of specific patent families, classes, numbers or specific applicants, inventors or companies. We also offer services such as "file inspection", "procedural status" and legalisation.  The transfer of various services into a software solution was already the next logical step a few years ago - thus PATOffice was born. Initially, we mainly mapped patent monitoring in PATOffice, but in the meantime PATOffice has grown into a modern SaaS solution that will integrate all IP services in the coming year. Manual work is thus a thing of the past. PATOffice is now a software that is well worth seeing. A modern, appealing user interface, graphical visualisations, easy team collaboration, automated workflows and the intelligent integration of user-specific AI (artificial intelligence) make PATOffice an attractive web-based all-in-one patent management software.

This change has brought many benefits for our customers.  

  1. Our product is now more intuitive and accessible.  Relevant documents and related tasks can now be accessed from any device with an internet connection.
  2. Secondly, we have been able to scale our services more easily and reach a wider audience.
  3. We are now able to make PATOffice an even more attractive IP tool at a rapid pace. Our development department is not standing still. Improvements are on the agenda.  

With PATOffice, we have now digitised our service offering to a high degree - true to the motto: "Shaping the IP Software of Tomorrow".

From manual services to software-as-a-service

Internal digitalisation

Not only our product and services have undergone a "radical" digitalisation. Our team was also faced with major digital challenges - major but essential challenges. To significantly improve efficiency within our team, we introduced new tools such as Asana and Hubspot. These platforms allow us to manage and track tasks, collaborate on projects and communicate more effectively with each other.

For example, Asana has helped us streamline our project management process by providing a central location for all project-related information and tasks. This eliminates the need for multiple emails and meetings to keep everyone on the same page, saving us valuable time and resources.

Hubspot, in turn, has given us a comprehensive CRM system that allows us to manage our client relationships more effectively. It gives us a clear overview of all interactions with our customers, from first contact to sale and beyond. This has helped us build closer relationships with our customers and provide better service overall.

The digital mindset at our company has led us to initiate a very hybrid working model: This means that we can flexibly arrange our individual working hours and can theoretically work from anywhere - even though most of us prefer to be physically in the office. Digitalisation at PATOffice opens many doors to modern hybrid working and we have been able to attract many new potential colleagues.

In summary, the digitalisation efforts at PATOffice have had a positive impact on both our internal processes and our external product offering, and are highly motivating not only for our customers but also for our team, shareholders and partners.
